Passion. It keeps me alive. It pulls me through boring days and seemingly pointless tasks. It anchors me to the deepest parts of who I am. When I feel lost I try to remember these passions. Finding them, holding them, expressing them guides be back to the path I am meant to follow.
Wikipedia says this about Passion:
Passion (from the Latin verb patior, meaning to suffer or to endure, also related to compatible) is an emotion applied to a very strong feeling about a person or thing. Passion is an intense emotion compelling feeling, enthusiasm, or desire for something. The term is also often applied to a lively or eager interest in or admiration for a proposal, cause, or activity or love."
Pitter – patior goes my heart. Many things make me passionate: my family and friends, foremost. My beautiful planet. The Internet and great films. Driving with my music so loud no one would want to ride along. My work.
- AND -
I’m passionate about things that I do not love: desperate poverty, abject cruelty, hypocrisy. I stand aghast at the large-scale manipulation of huge groups of humanity through the concentrated control of media. I am saddened by how human beings are so deeply constrained by the myth.
I hope to fuse both my loves and my hates into my work. Empowering passion and enabling personal expression is what I’m after.
Will you tell me about your passions? They inform and help shape mine.
